Behind the Vails of Government

We live in society that information is at your finger tip, if you want to know about something all you need to do is "Google". With that said, there are some issues that are not so easy to find, because it is being done "Behind the Vails of Government". According to word of God, "My people parish because of the lack of knowledge". We as saint of God know this world is not our home, but we do have to live it for now, with that in mind there is a need for us to stay in touch with the actions of our leadership, and the things around us (watch so you will know how to pray). I have recieved several e-mails in the past six months that I feel is well worth sharing with those that visit our site. There is a news report that I think you all will find very interesting, please take a minute and click on this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuBo4E77ZXo . This is a matter that we all need to pray about, but we the people of God know that this is only scripture being fulfilled. Is this the mark of the beast? that is the question, the answer is get SAVED and stay SAVED!

Brother Leroy Ruff

"Give God the Glory in all Things"

Congradulations goes out to Brother Leroy Ruff, his hobby is show car competition. He has won 1st place 5 times, 2nd place 3 times, Best of Show 8 times, and Overall Best of Show once. He is picture here to the right proudly displaying his latest one. I was asked by someone, why are you going to put a picture of him at a car show on your church website? My responce to him was, I feel that we should give God the glory in any and all personal achievements in life, and this would be a great example of God making us the head and not the tail, and proving the fact that "whatsoever a Godly man does he shall prosper.

According to the word of God, Psalms 1:1-3; a man can be Blessed if he, 1) doesn't walk in the council of the ungodly, nor 2)standeth in the way of sinners, nor 3)sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But 4)his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night. The 3 benefits to that man is 1)God will substain him, 2) he will be fruitful in his season, and 3)whatsoever he does he shall prosper.

"A Year of Faithfulness"

We of the House of Prayer, would like to thank Brother and Sister Pete McNeal, for a year of faithfulness. They have been in charge of our Share Program which is sponcered by our "Concerned Group for Others" ministry. Our site was recently awared a one year certificate, this is given to any site that has successfully served the comminity for one year. For those that might not know any thing about this program, Share is food program that allows people of the community to purchase quality food at half price. All sites are required to take orders and deliver once a month, each site must average a minimum of $400 in sale per month. This is not an easy task, but Brother and Sister McNeal with the help of the Lord, have manage to provide this ministry with minimal assistance.  We ask that you keep them in prayer, and once again we thank you Brother and Sister McNeal.

House of Prayer Church
"Resurrection Sunday 2007"
We of the the House of Prayer, would like to share with you some pictures from our Easter Program. Our Sunday School department presented a great program, they allowed the children to give speaches and sing songs, about our risen savior Jesus Christ. We know that the world made some issue concerning this holiday, on how this is non-Christian holiday. If you were to study this matter, you will find that in Easter is not a Christian holiday. Easter was origanally an holiday that celebrated "Easteria" the goddess of new beginnings or the goddess of spring. We as the people of God , by no means celebrate this goddess or the bunny that is now associated with this time of the year, we as the Church of the Living God should make sure our young people know that the "Death, Burial and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ (The Gospel) is the reason for the season in the church. With that said we have taken some picture from our "Resurrection Sunday, Sunday School Program, and put them in a slide show, click on link below. Edit

Fulfilling the Commission

Evangelist Judith McLaughlin is shown embracing Keisha Jackson after her baptism. Evangelist McLaughlin is a guest worker on Captiva Island here in Florida, she makes it a point to left up the name Jesus every chance she gets, we all know that according to the word of God, Jesus said "If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me". We ask that you all pray for Evangelist McLaughlin as she  continue to preach the gospel of Jesus of Christ.

We as the people of God in the many different churches and religious bodies around the world have developed the various mission statements. Many if not all the missions are needed, but we must make sure in the process of accomplishing our many mission that we don't lose sight of the greatest mission; "The Great Commission".

Jesus in the gospels, before he ascended back into heaven, He gave instructions to the apostles, this was the divine mission statement; We should preach the gospel (which is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ) to every living creature, teach that repentance and remission of sin should be preached in his name, and baptize the believer. This should be the mission of the people of god.

Church News

Our Brotherhood department has been busy in the month of Febuary, on the 4th of this month they held a brotherhood "Super Bowl " fellowship. This was held at Brother Williams home (special thanks goes out he and his wife for hosting this event), we had Brother Pete McNeal on the grill. It was a great time of fellowship (unless you were a Chicago Bears fan!).

Our Brotherhood department was recently awarded the P.A.W. Florida Stae Council, enrollment plaque(this is for the church with the most brother to register at the Florida State Council. This was due to the effort of our Brotherhood Chairperson; John Burdette. May God continue to annoint him to lead on the local and state level.

Additional council news, Associate Pastor Veola Dunn was appointed to the office of; Registration Coordinator for the Florida State Council Sunday School Department. She formally held the office, State Missionary Department Secretary. Sister Crystal Torres-Nunez one our young people was also appointed to the office of Assistant State Secretary for the Florida Council. We ask that you pray for both of them as they take on these new assignments, in the Lord.

On Febuary 18th we travel to North Port, to fellowship with El-Bethel Brotherhood. This was a glorious event, guest speaker was District Elder James Tally, his message was in the form of a question to the brothers; "...Where art Thou?" He came out of the book of Genisus(Gen. 3:9), his message was dealing with the fact that we as men are not in a place where God can use us. This was a powerful and needed message for the men of God.

Prayer for the Men of God!
